WHEN BRANDING GIVES A RIVER LANGUAGE
If a river could talk, what would it tell us? In my final thesis, I focussed on the Alpine river Inn. I followed it from its source, the Swiss Lunghin lake, to the mouth of the Danube in Passau to capture its personality and to find out what it might be thinking about. The aim was to make the river tangible through an audio-visual identity. The result was a corporate design, a concept for a transnational installation on the riverbank and a website where visitors can trace the Inn. It shows the different sides of the river and tells the story of its life.
CITIES AND VILLAGES ALONG THE RIVER COURSE HAVE THEIR OWN INN-LOGO
The Inn doesn't just flow through locations, but is more the reason these towns and villages evolved there. Basically he is the main character. The location is a variable addition.
Represents the bubbling, shining and bright upper reaches of the young Inn.
Represents the strong, deep and powerful middle and lower reaches of the Inn.
Symbolises the natural green of the Inn through its glacial milk and floodplains.

WEBSIDE WALKTHROUGH
THE WEBSITE IS A PLACE TO ENCOUNTER THE INN AUDIOVISUALLY
Visitors can follow the course of the Inn while seeing the flowing water and hearing the river talk. Three narrators have lent their voices to him, in dialects according to the three regions the Inn crosses. All videos, stories and the interface design was made by me.

FOR THE FICTITIOUS OPENING EVENT "RIVERWALK"
I DESIGNED ADVERTISING MATERIAL AND MERCHANDISE
THE POSTER SERIES CAPTURES TEN MOMENTS OF FLOWING
It is based on digitally processed and overdrawn photos of the multifaceted Inn-water. The challenge was to create a harmonious transition while each poster conveys a separate feeling of the river section.

SPEECH BUBBLE SIGNS SYMBOLIZE THAT THE RIVER CAN NOW HAVE ITS SAY
To draw attention to the campaign, quotes about what the river would like to say at this location are attached to bridges.
PLATFORMS ALONG THE RIVERSIDE OFFER VISITORS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LISTEN TO STORIES THE INN IS TELLING
Via an ear trumpet with a motion detector the audio files are randomly triggered. This concept creates an inspiring combination of art, design and nature experience.
